History
Set up in 1990 by the Order of Education Ministry no. 7751, Faculty of Economic Sciences of Galati, with the current name Faculty of Economics and Business Administration, it has the mission of training specialists in the economic field for an economy that aims to integrate into the Romanian and European economic structures; transfer of economic knowledge to students in close relation to the most important features concerning the associated economic models; training the students in the field of research for various scopes of activity; creation of skills for making compatible the young graduates’ knowledge from the business environment and public financial institutions with those similar from the European Union; providing the school education with specialized teachers; improvement of teachers from pre-university education (completed, Ist and IInd degree); improvement of specialists from the economic organizations through postgraduate courses organized within the faculty or at the economic organizations headquarters, upon request (inside of the Department for Continuous Training and Technological Transfer (D.F.C.T.T.), a component of the university structure located inside the faculty; an activity of fundamental research and contract research through governmental and European funding programs; ensuring specialized books in various areas for the specialists in economics.
